WHAT'S IN HERE
--------------
logo/
koad-logo-2048.png 2048 x 2048, transparent. THE ONE YOU WANT for
anything printed. Sharp at full size.
  koad-logo.png 637 x 637, transparent. The small web version —
lighter to load, fine for screens.
  koad-logo-cream.png 1024 x 1024, flattened onto cream (#F4E9D2). For
printers and documents that choke on transparency.
  koad-logo-walnut.png 1024 x 1024, flattened onto walnut (#2B1D12). For
                           dark shirts and dark print.

colors/
koad-palette.png One-page swatch sheet. Send this to your printer.
koad-palette.txt The same values as plain text, to copy and paste.
koad-palette.gpl Swatch file for GIMP, Inkscape, and Krita.

LICENSE.txt CC BY-SA 4.0 for the artwork, OFL for the fonts.
Read this before you sell anything.

fonts/
Bungee/ Display face. All the headings, "DON'T PANIC".
Fredoka/ Body face. Variable weight, 400-700.
SpaceMono/ Mono face. Small caps labels, the technical bits.

All three are Open Font License, so you may use them for anything,
including commercial work. Each folder carries its OFL.txt — keep it
alongside the font if you pass it on. They also live on Google Fonts
if you would rather install from there.

HOW BIG CAN YOU PRINT IT
------------------------
The logo is a 2048 x 2048 pixel image. There is no vector version, so there
is an upper limit — but it is a comfortable one, because big things are
printed at lower resolution than small things.

  Stickers, buttons, coozies, patches easily
Shirt fronts, tote bags, up to ~7 in easily, at 300 dpi
Banners, flags, float panels, ~14-20 in fine, at the 100-150 dpi that
                                           large-format printers actually use
Bigger than that ask first — kreweofarthurdent.com

Always send the 2048 file to a printer, never the 637 one. If a print shop
asks for vector artwork or an .svg, tell them there isn't one and give them
the 2048 PNG; for a logo this simple, at these sizes, it is not a problem.

USING IT WELL
-------------
  - Keep the walnut outline. It is what makes the logo readable on cream,
on walnut, on a green shirt, and on a badly-lit street at night.
  - Leave clear space around it, about the width of one of the hands.
  - Scale it as a whole. Don't stretch it, don't reflow the lettering,
don't rebuild the ring in a different typeface.
  - Recolor only if you must, and then only into palette colors.
  - Gold on walnut is the signature pairing. When in doubt, use that.

None of that is a rule, only what tends to work.

LICENSE — THE SHORT VERSION
---------------------------
The logo and the palette are CC BY-SA 4.0. Use them, change them, and sell
what you make. Credit the Krewe of Arthur Dent, and release any modified
version of the artwork under the same license. That is the whole of it — no
permission to ask for, and nobody to ask.

The fonts are a separate matter: they are under the SIL Open Font License,
which is roughly as permissive. Keep each OFL.txt with its font.

See LICENSE.txt for the details, including what share-alike does and does not
cover. (Putting the logo on a shirt does not license the shirt.)

If you would rather buy krewe gear than make it, there is an official store
at store.kreweofarthurdent.com.

DON'T PANIC. And know where your towel is.
